Desi joins cast of National Comedy Theatre

The National Comedy Theatre has inducted some newbies into their improv team, and Desi is thrilled to be one of them!  After the rigorous “bootcamp” improv training that will take place over the next few weeks, she’ll begin practicing with the rest of the team and performing on a regular basis.

“Glee” Audition Process Update

As it turns out, the audition process for “Glee” has been postponed and the nationwide casting call hosted by MySpace was not quite what it claimed to be.  FOX had originally planned to produce a reality show called something along the lines of “Who Wants To Be On ‘Glee?’”  However, when the show fell through, “Glee” claimed at least one person from the MySpace audition pool would be cast in at least one episode.  Since that time, Oxygen has bought the rights to the reality show.  The new reality show will be filmed and/or aired in the summer of 2011.

Desi cast in sketch comedy show!

Desi has just been cast in the upcoming production of “The Burkinis; Great Moments in Feminist History…Eh…blah, blah, blah, Burp,” a comically bizarre cross between a play and a sketch comedy show!

See Desi play a variety of characters including a colonial soldier, a ”Dungeons and Dragons”-obsessed teenage boy, a schoolgirl determined to help her friend overcome her “pee-shyness,” and of course, a burkini-clad cheerleader.  What is a burkini, you ask?  The burkini: a burka/bikini hybrid, the fashion statement that will be making its debut in “The Burkinis…” at The Abingdon Theatre, August 10-28.
